Man with dementia missing in Prince George's County
BELTSVILLE, Md. - Police are still looking to find a missing 65-year-old man with dementia from Prince George's County, as frigid temperatures continue to linger through the area.
Prince George's County police said 65-year-old Daniel Dehaven disappeared from the parking lot at Costco in Beltsville. Police say he was with family when he disappeared.
He was reportedly last seen at the store at the 10900 block of Baltimore Avenue on Tuesday and was caught on store surveillance video at about 11:30 a.m.
Dehaven's family said he suffers from dementia and is non-verbal.
Prince George's County fire crews and volunteers met on Saturday morning to assist with a search. Beltsville Fire volunteers will be searching for Dehaven on Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
Earlier this week, officials received a tip that Dehaven may have been spotted in downtown Silver Spring but they could not find him.
Police were urging residents and businesses to be on the lookout for Dehaven, who was described as white male, standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds.
Anyone with information that could help detectives find Dehaven is urged to call the Prince George's County Police Department's Regional Investigation Division - Northern Region at (301) 699-2601.
Officials also wanted to remind the community to check on elderly neighbors and take extra precautions with anyone who may require extra attention, such as making sure they have identification on them, as freezing temperatures continue into the winter.
