Man found dead in burning vehicle DC, officials say
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - D.C. fire and police officials are investigating after a man was found dead in a burning vehicle in Northeast.
Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department's Major Crash Investigations Unit investigated a traffic fatality that occurred on Saturday, April 20, 2019, in the 4000 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast.
Fire and emergency officials said they found a vehicle engulfed in flames when they responded to the scene on East Capitol Street Minnesota Avenue Northeast.
According to D.C. police, at approximately 7:00 a.m. a sedan was speeding westbound in the 4000 block of East Capitol Street, NE, when the driver lost control of the car and struck the south side curb.
The vehicle continued westbound and traversed across all three lanes until it struck a tree and burst into flames.
They have not identified the person at this time.
