Loudoun County teacher arrested, charged after police say he was drunk at school

A Loudoun County elementary school teacher was arrested and charged after police say he was drunk on school grounds.

Police say a school resource deputy at Mill Run Elementary School in Ashburn was contacted by school staff on Thursday regarding a teacher who was possibly intoxicated. Police officials say they found 46-year-old Brian K. Chamer with bottles of alcohol in his personal effects inside the school.

Chamer was charged with drinking or possessing alcoholic beverages in or on public school grounds and with public intoxication. He was released on an unsecured $500 bond.

Police are still investigating at this time.
