Juvenile pedestrian struck, pinned underneath tour bus near MLK Memorial in DC
WASHINGTON - A juvenile pedestrian has been extricated after being pinned underneath a tour bus near the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Friday evening, fire officials say.
The boy was struck by the bus at around 6:50 p.m. in the 1900 block of Independence Avenue in Southwest D.C.
He was transported by a U.S. Park Police helicopter to Children's National Medical Center with serious injuries, police say.
Drivers should expect street closures and delays in the area, police say.
U.S. Park Police are conducting the investigation.
