Former NFL star Reggie Bush wants to meet victim of Urbana violent bullying video

URBANA, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - Former NFL star Reggie Bush has weighed-in after officials said several middle school students were caught on camera bullying and violently attacking a young teen in Urbana.

Bush, who played 11 years in the NFL after being selected No. 2 overall in the 2006 NFL Draft following a highly-decorated career at the University of Southern California, took to Twitter Wednesday evening to voice his support for the bullied teen.

"Don't know the situation and don't really care this shouldn't happen and I would love to speak with this kid face to face and tell him that he is not a coward but brave and bold and more of a man than those kids who jumped him! If you know him please pass him the message," Bush tweeted.

The video shows several students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades surrounding a classmate and one boy accusing the victim of "snitching."

The victim tried to run away, but the attackers were seen on video chasing him up a hill and then across a roadway. The video ends with the victim on the ground pleading for them to stop.

"Honestly I believe the best thing for Urbana Middle School to do is bring all these kids together that we're there watching or participating, put them in a room, first make them apologize to him, then to teach them WHY this can never happen again along w/ community service," Bush also tweeted.

Frederick County Public Schools spokesman Michael Doerrer says the incident happened off school grounds on Feb. 6 and administrators quickly worked to identify at least two of the attackers.

The Frederick County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident and said the students could face criminal charges on top of disciplinary action at the school.
