Filming shutting down several streets around McPherson Square this weekend
WASHINGTON - Filming is set to take place in downtown D.C. as there will be several street closures around McPherson Square this weekend.
D.C. police said the following streets and alleys will be closed from 6:30 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday:
- 1400-1500 block of I Street, NW
- 800-900 block of 15th Street, NW (both sides of McPherson Square)
- 800 block of Vermont Avenue, NW
- Eastbound 1500 block of K Street Access Road, NW
- Eastbound 1400 block of K Street Access Road, NW
- Zei Alley, NW
There will also be intermittent closures at:
- 1300 block of I Street, NW
- 1500 block of K Street, NW
This weekend's movie shoot is rumored to be for the sequel of "Wonder Woman." Some people on Twitter have posted photos showing crews setting up for the filming, which includes a telephone booth and older-model vehicles parked along the street.
Titled "Wonder Woman 1984," the upcoming film is expected to be released in theaters in 2019.
Prior filming for the sequel has been seen in Georgetown, Penn Quarter neighborhood and at the abandoned Landmark Mall in Alexandria, Virginia in recent months.
