Fairfax County police investigating shooting in Centreville
CENTREVILLE, Va. - Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Fairfax County Tuesday evening, officials say.
According to Fairfax County police, a man was shot in the upper body in the area of Old Centreville Road and Flamborough Road near the Clifton Townes townhouse community in Centreville. Authorities received a call about the shooting at around 5:50 p.m.
Officials say the victim either drove himself or was driven a few miles away to Paddington Lane and Bolton Road where he called police about the shooting.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say they were interviewing a potential witness, but they have not taken a person into custody.
A car believed to be connected to the shooting was seen towed away from the scene. Police would not confirm if the victim was inside that vehicle.
