A dirt bike rider was killed in a crash involving a police cruiser in the District, according to officials.
Authorities said the crash happened on Division Avenue at Fitch Place, Northeast at about 1:20 p.m.
The rider on the dirt bike was rushed to hospital in critical condition and he died from his injuries, officials confirmed. The officer involved in the crash was not injured, according to police.
Video from the scene shows a red dirt bike that appeared to crash into the front passenger door of the police cruiser. The front passenger door had significant damage and the airbags were deployed.
