Capital Area Food Bank to give out free groceries to those impacted by government shutdown
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - The Capital Area Food Bank will open five, free pop-up markets this weekend for employees and contractors impacted by the partial government shutdown.
Free produce and groceries will be available from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 12 at the following locations:
- Brentwood store (DC), 1050 Brentwood Road Brentwood, Washington, DC
- Richmond Highway (VA), 6800 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA
- Campus Way South (MD), 10480 Campus Way South, Largo, MD
- Allentown Rd (MD), 7074 Allentown Rd, Camp Springs, MD
- Rockville Pike (MD), 12051 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD
Up to 250 people can be assisted at each location. Remember to bring a valid ID or federal contractor ID.
