Body found nearby H.D. Woodson High School

WASHINGTON - D.C. police are conducting a death investigation after a man was found dead nearby H.D. Woodson High School Tuesday evening.

Police say the victim was discovered just before 6 p.m. by a person walking in the 500 block of 55th Street in Northeast D.C.

Police would not specify exactly where the body was found. Investigators said the autopsy would determine if the man's death would be considered suspicious.

A homicide unit responded to the scene. The majority of the police activity appeared to take place across the street from the high school.

No further information was given by authorities.
