Body found in pond in Burtonsville, police say

BURTONSVILLE, Md. - Montgomery County police say a woman was found dead in a pond in Burtonsville Wednesday afternoon.

The discovery was made after officers responded to the 14200 block of Ballinger Terrace at around 3:39 p.m. for a report of a suspicious situation. First responders located the victim's remains at the scene.

Police say the death investigation is ongoing and an autopsy will be performed at the medical examiner's office in Baltimore.
