Man dead, woman injured after struck by vehicle Monday night in Upper Marlboro
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - Police say a man is dead and a woman is recovering after they were struck by a vehicle Monday night in Upper Marlboro.
Officers say 27-year-old Tevin Jamal Bailey and 25-year-old Juanita Ebony Reed had just gotten off a bus at a bus stop and were crossing MD 202 near Campus Way in a crosswalk around 6:30 p.m. when they were struck.
Investigators say the driver of the vehicle that struck them remained on the scene. Police say there is no indication of impairment being a factor in this crash.
Bailey and Reed were both transported by ambulance to the University of Maryland Prince George's Hospital Center. Bailey died at the hospital from his injuries. All northbound lanes of MD 202 were closed for approximately three hours for the investigation.
Authorities will decide on whether to pursue any charges once the state police's investigation is completed. The incident remains under investigation.
