2 dead, 1 injured after vehicle crashes into park near White House

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - A late night crash near the White House left two people dead and one person injured.

Authorities say the crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at James Monroe Park near 21st Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Officials say one person was critically injured in the crash and was transported from the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time. Authorities say the two who were killed were in the park when they were struck by the vehicle.
