Montgomery County Police have arrested two people who they say beat and robbed a man before he was killed in a deadly hit-and-run crash on June 8.

Police say surveillance video in the area of Georgia Avenue and Hewitt Avenue revealed that the victim, 40-year-old Gregory Atwood, was robbed and beaten before he crawled into the road and was struck by two cars.

Detectives arrested 21-year-old Kenneth Kpakima and a 17-year-old boy this week. They also believe a third suspect, a 15-year-old girl, was involved, but have not charged her with a crime at this time.

According to investigators, the three suspects witnessed Atwood crawl into the road and get hit, but did not call for help. Instead, police say they ran away.

Police are still looking for the two vehicles that struck and killed Atwood -- a light-colored Dodge Durango and a 2011 Dodge Avenger or Chrysler 200.
