1 killed after crash in Upper Marlboro
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. - Maryland State Police said a man was killed by a passing motorist after being involved in a minor crash in Upper Marlboro Tuesday night.
According to police, the victim was involved in an accident with another vehicle at around 7:30 p.m. on Crain Highway (Route 301) at Trade Zone Avenue. When the victim got out of his vehicle to check on the damage, he was struck by a third vehicle traveling on southbound Route 301.
The driver of the striking vehicle stayed at the scene and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, police said.
Authorities said a second crash also occurred in the area. Police are interviewing witnesses and the cause of the crashes remains under investigation.
No charges have been filed at this time.
