1 dead after speeding car strikes multiple vehicles, catches fire in Southwest DC, police say
WASHINGTON - Police say one person is dead after the driver of a speeding car struck multiple vehicles early Friday morning in Southwest, D.C.
The incident was reported around 3:15 a.m. along multiple blocks of S. Capitol Street. Officers say the speeding car struck at least three other vehicles before catching fire and stopping near Galveston Street.
The passenger of the striking vehicle was killed and the driver needed to be extricated. Police say three other people were injured.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
