Fire damages UPS trucks, packages at Frederick County facility
FREDERICK, Md. - Nearly a dozen United Parcel Service delivery trucks and an unknown number of packages were damaged in a late night fire at a facility in Frederick County.
The fire was reported at 11:41 p.m. Monday at a warehouse on the 6700 block of English Muffin Way. Officials say ten UPS vehicles, packages, and packaging equipment were damaged in the blaze. No injuries were reported.
Officials say the warehouse was a temporary structure put in place to help with extra holiday deliveries. The trucks were parked near the building when the fire started and a sprinkle system helped control the flames. The fire is not considered suspicious in nature at this time.
