Choking hazard prompts Purina wet food recall
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (FOX 5 DC) - Purina is recalling some of its Muse wet cat food after customers discovered rubber pieces in the products.
According to Nestle Purina PetCare, there have been no complaints of animals suffering from injuries or illness because of the rubber pieces - which are translucent yellow with a blue backing.
The company says they are recalling the line of Muse wet cat food Natural Chicken Recipe in Gravy in three-ounce cans "out of an abundance of caution."
They say that if you bought the product, you should throw it out, and they will replace it.
The products were distributed nationwide, and were available at a number of pet stores and e-commerce outlets.
The company is asking vendors to remove the products from their offering.
