Battle in the Skies: Women pilots compete in 41st Annual Air Race Classic

FREDERICK, Md. - A battle in the skies!

More than 110 women pilots took off Tuesday for the 41st Annual Air Race Classic.

The air race is a four-day cross-country competition that began at the Frederick Municipal Airport in Maryland and ends in Sante Fe, New Mexico.

The deadline to arrive at New Mexico's Santa Fe Municipal Airport is Friday at 5 p.m.

Competitors this year range from college students to a veteran racer in her 80s.
