2 found dead in Northwest DC apartment; police conducting death investigation
WASHINGTON - Authorities are conducting a death investigation after two people were found dead in an apartment in Northwest, D.C.
Police were called to the 700 block of Somerset Place around 9 p.m. Monday for a welfare check.
A resident told officers that a female neighbor who lived in the basement apartment had not been heard from since last week. The resident had a spare key to the neighbor's apartment and opened the door for officers who found two bodies on the floor inside. Medics pronounced the two dead on the scene.
The two found dead have not been identified. Detectives are continuing their investigation at this time.
