11-year veteran of D.C. Police killed in off-duty motorcycle crash
WASHINGTON - An 11-year veteran of the D.C. Police Department was killed in an early morning off-duty motorcycle crash Friday.
Authorities say 32-year old Sergeant Jin Park was riding his motorcycle at the 6800 block of Piney Branch Road and Aspen Street in the northwest around 5:45 a.m. when he was involved in a crash with another vehicle.

Park died at the scene. Officials say he was heading home following his shift when the crash happened. He was assigned to the Fourth District and is survived by his mother and brother.
Detectives from the MPD's Major Crash Unit announced on Saturday that they are investigating the incident and are asking anyone who has knowledge of this incident to call police at (202) 727-9099 or text a tip to the Department’s text tip line at 50411.
D.C. Police Chief Robert Contee released the following statement: "It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of an admired and beloved MPD Sergeant.
